Apr 11, 2015

Ever seen a trend, liked it, but weren't necessarily sure if you could style it in a "you" kind of way? "How We Wore It" will show you how different women braved the trend and played with it until they got it to fit in with their styles- and hopefully that'll inspire us to poke a toe out of our comfort zones and try something new, too! Today's trend will be monochrome outfits. Happy creating!

Let's discuss: What was your favorite monochrome look that you created?

  1. Some fantastic looks here. I think most people think of monochrome as just being black & white, so it's great to see some colourful options too!

  2. Love all the options you shared! Maybe number four feels more "me" but I'd love to wear all of them, actually!
It does happen to me with certain trends that I like but I don't know how to really own them. Last year I wore a monochrome outfit based on neutral colors similar to number 1 and I loved the result! :)

  3. Monochrome is red is to die for! You would definitely turn heads!

  4. I love monochrome looks. Although mine are usually just all black or white-ish ;) Thanks for thinking out of the box and showing some very interesting colour ensembles instead. Number 5 is so on point, I can't stop looking at it :D

  10. Great post. I nearly always wear monochrome (although mine seems to be either black, white or grey haha). My style is closest to the lady in the first picture though; slightly oversized with clean lines :).

Haha, and in response to your comment on my lipstick post - I know, right!? I have soo many pinky-brown-nude lipsticks it's ridiculous. I didn't even realize it till I dug in and organized my lipsticks by color and felt quite abashed by how many (barely) varying shades I had of the same color....sigh.

  21. Man, I love this monochrome trend. It just looks so cool! Everyone here looks super pretty.

Also, in response to your totally rational question about commuter trains. Nope! Atlanta's trains don't extend outside the perimeter into the suburbs and they only run north-south and east-west inside the city. Some dummies in the 80s were scared city people would ride the train out to the burbs and steal things so they never put the rail in place. Now we're all paying for that decision now that the population has doubled since then! Feel very lucky you have commuter rail! It's one hugely great thing about the Chicago area.
