SHEER SKIRTS & PETER PAN DRESSES

Looking at this outfit right now I only have one regret: that I didn't tie a long velvet ribbon into a bow around my waist, with the ends trailing down a good twelve inches. That would have been the perfect finishing touch. Must file away for next time ;)

Going with the sheer trend of yesterday, here I am moving one of my favorite lace skirts into nippier weather. Instead of going the usual route and pairing the delicate material with a heavier underskirt, I went the opposite direction and matched it with a long sleeved dress. This peter pan collar number is from Fiery Finish Vintage and I really love how the soft mauve color goes so seamlessly with the white, delicate lace. It almost looks like it's just one dress, and not a layered look.

Now all I have to do is go buy that velvet ribbon...

  3. This is so seamless. I never would have guessed that you had combined two pieces. I love that the other end of the dress kind of looks like a liner for the sheer skirt. This is very well done. I see what you're saying about the ribbon, but I think it looks just fine without it. <3

  11. I quite like it without the ribbon, buuut with all this talk of a black velvet ribbon I can definitely see what it'll bring to this outfit, which, mind you is incredibly stunning!

  12. Oh, I indeed think it was a dress! The two pieces go together seamlessly. This outfit gives me a very feminine Victorian era vibe, it's very lovely. Your dark hair goes wonderful with the soft mauve too.

  15. This is so perfect! Although I agree, a ribbon would have been that great finishing touch. I love the softness of this whole outfit, though. Sooo pretty.
