STYLING SHEER PIECES FOR FALL

So if you haven't noticed, I've got a thing for sheer pieces this year. Blouses, skirts, dresses- anything with a delicate white fabric and I'm all over it. The one thing I didn't expect, though, is that sheer pieces are even more fun to style during the fall than the summer because now we have layers! Pair them with plaids for an unexpected mix, fur stoles for a touch of femininity, wool accents for juxtaposition, or heavy knits for a fall feel. The possibilities are endless

Do you have any sheer outfits I can pull more inspiration from? Show me/tell me about them!

  9. Great combination! This dress is not particulary my style, but it suits you and you make a beautiful look with the plaid shirt. I'm looking for some shirt in the colour of your dress 😍. Good job! ;)

  10. Okay, before I begin on your superb outfit, I have to express how much I gushed over your comment on my blog. You're such an inspiring person and I think the highest of your writing, so coming from you it meant a lot!

And once again, you have a knack for the unexpected. I would never have thought to mix a feminine sheer dress with a casual plaid shirt - I love how it looks! That scarf looks uber cozy too, definitely something my little kitten would curl up into!

  11. I haven't jumped on the sheer clothing bandwagon yet, but it looks like I'm gonna need to! ;)

  12. I've never been a sheer person, mostly because the garments that come in sheer fabrics aren't usually cut for my body type (usually they're baggy/hi-lo pieces, and those just... are not me.) but I love the way you style them! I'm especially in love with this; that plaid and the scarf with that dress... perfection!

  13. You look beautiful! And I do really like the idea of sheer in the Fall:) I don't think I own a lot of sheer items. Only one peplum top that comes to mind, but maybe I should try and layer that too.

Anyway, thank you very much for the wonderful comment you left on my anniversary post! It made me really happy:)

And I hope you'll enjoy lots of hot chocolate, too, this Fall!

  15. I like how you paired the sheer garment with that big knit scarf. Funny I went on a shoot yesterday and we shot images of gynormous yarn with gynorous knitting needles and it creates knits like this.

  19. Love love love that earthy plaid with the sheer! And that hemline makes you look so long (that sounds weird, but I swear it's a compliment!). And, as always, your hair is making me want bangs, and your lip color is divine. XO

  23. You certainly have a flair for styling these sheer pieces! This dress has really been a good one. LOVE the contrast with that super knit scarf - which I'm obsessing over by the way. Uggghhh, gimme all the knit scarves! *_*

  31. You have such rad style, I mean it. I once had a yellow sheer dress from FP similar to this and stupidly I got rid of it because I could never find the right slip. So sooooo mad at myself.

  32. I love pairing lighter pieces with chunky knits but you may have converted me to flannel. Plus your color palette with the dress+flannel+scarf is spot on, that dark green is so pretty.
