LAYERING 101: 10 TIPS ON HOW TO LAYER THIS FALL

Nov 11, 2014

Fall is in full swing and while I'm loving all the hot apple cider my mom is cooking up weekly, I have to admit that I find my inspiration...waning. Sometimes you look into a closet full of sweaters and your mind draws a complete blank. What else can you do other than pair them with jeans? Is there anything else?! To keep the inspiration alive (and the panic a full step back) let's jump into another installment of Layering 101: Fall Edition! Which one is your favorite look? And feel free to share some other styling ideas in the comments below!

  1. Great post! I need more style how to's in my life. The tips were perfect and easy to use, and I am so thankful for them! My favorites were 4 and 5 I think-the ones that were more casual, because well let's face it- I am always dressed casually, but I also loved the plaid pants with bright sweater, and suspenders could be really fun too.

  2. Especially loving tips 1, 4, 7, 9, and 10. As it never gets too cold in SoCal, layering is always the best option for fall / winter!

  14. Oh! this is perfect timing, as soon as I posted talking about the rare autumn we were having here with the hot temperatures the sooner winter strikes :S and I'm really not prepared & uninspired. I'll buy some suspenders because I really like the tip 8 and I'm also thinking 2 and 6 will be on the way :)

  19. I've just bookmarked this, I love the pinafore style and would rock it more if I didn't look like a prepubescent child AND I love the plaid trousers and mustard jumper, very cute xxx

  23. These are ALL so fabulous. But no surprise, you have such great taste and always pull the most beautiful & inspiring outfits. I'd happily rock all of these stunning looks. As for my layering as of late? I really love playing with texture: sweaters, silk dresses, cable knit tights and gorgeous leather booties + some modern jewelry always does the trick... that perfect little pop of interest!! xo

  33. Tips one through four and ten are my favourite ways to layer. Especially four. I've got gigantic scarves and a slightly too big for me leather jacket! Perfect for the cold snap we're going through!
