Remember how last week I said I was going to go build a house by a waterfall, and you could visit me once I'm settled in and I'll serve you sub-par tea and Jimmy Johns? Well this is the place. I haven't gotten the logistics down on which side of the waterfall to build it on- left or right, left or right?- but the prints are being drafted.

For a field of daisies I would leave the city without any regret.

And for all my Chicago readers- this state park is called Starved Rock and it's just two hours out of the city. Come visit it and I guarantee you we'll end up neighbors.

  1. That looks so lovely! Your photography is beautiful. I would give up anything to build a little cottage in that very same spot. I had no idea such a wonderful place was just outside of Chicago! One more reason to visit the city. xx

  13. Oh hey, I've seen some of these! I looooove your photography. Because you're actually good at it and not someone taking underexposed black and white pics of a leaf. These all have such a dreamy feel to them. I especially like that second to last one, Miss Marlen!!! Yay for woodsy adventures! WAHOO

  20. I love these beautiful photos!! Thanks for sharing your bad hair story with me:) After I quit my cubicle job I decided to move away from Vancouver and back to Victoria to live with my parents. Vancouver was too expensive and I hated my job. I was working at an accounting firm which made no sense since I studied art and fashion in university. Now I am working part-time at Club Monaco and blogging full time. I recently got a gig writing the fashion column for Monday Magazine.
I hope we can stay in touch and follow each other.

  27. Ugh... how beautiful and lush! It totally reminds me of "Old Man's Cave" in Ohio... I miss the North up there, although... there are alot of waterfalls and rock formations here in Texas but I miss the greenery. Looks like you had fun and came back with some very beautiful images.

  28. This is such a picturesque place! I wish I could live right by a waterfall. Maybe you should look into building a tiny house right on a river, not far from your waterfall of choice! Just Google "tiny house" and you will be overwhelmed with information.
