Remixing Vintage Dresses

So the weather is being all fickle on me, and one second it's time to dive head-first into some cable knits, and the next I'm stripping it off and going for something without sleeves. So while it's in the middle of figuring out just what it wants to do with me, I decided to compromise and wear a summer dress from Bottled Blonde Vintage, but with fall colors. I think the mustard looks really nice with the navy plaid, and I added in a rosette belt in a deep pink to tie the two colors together. Take that mother nature.

And how fun is this visor? When I tried it on at the store I was ready to poke fun at it, but then I looked in the mirror and was all, "I...like this?" Sometimes I surprise myself with my odd tastes, haha. The last time I wore it was when I went to a food truck festival at Capitol Hill, and you can check out that post here

And in case you think this Bottle Blonde Vintage dress looks familiar, it does! I wore this same navy plaid dress in this post, when I went adventuring through Pioneer Square. In that first post I had a hard time styling this vintage number, but a few of you suggested I remix it by adding a skirt. Brilliant move, guys! (By the way, that outfit was chosen as Lucky's Look of the Day!!)

And speaking of Bottled Blonde Vintage, they have even more pretty vintage dresses and for so cheap! Most of everything is $20 to $30 dollars; it just makes you want to throw everything into your shopping cart and run. Here are some of my favorites:

  11. Sometimes I surprise myself with my own odd tastes, too! I had no idea how much I would love Doc Martens boots. :P I still think that's a little crazy of me. Oh well! You look great!

  12. That yellow skirt is a perfect fall skirt! I love how you've layered it over your pretty vintage dress. I always want to try wearing more of my dresses as tops but I can't get over the thought of wearing too many layers in the heat. Moral of the story is it needs to cool down so I can remix like you. For real!

  19. I didn't realize that "shirt" was actually a dress. Such a great way to get extra mileage out of a dress!

I definitely have many times where I've picked something up and thought it was absolutely awful....until trying it on and realizing it had to come home with me :)

  21. How in the world do you manage to make a visor look so cool? No one has ever made a visor look cool, I believe you're the first :). I'm so looking forward to cooler weather when I can put your layering tips to use! Seriously if it would stop being 95 degrees here for just like a day...pshhh. This blue dress is a stunner and I love the rose belt you paired with it over your skirt, what a fun and feminine touch! Also that shop looks amazing, totally checking it out! :)

  27. Dresses and skirts always look so lumpy on me. How do they not look lumpy on you? I am envious, O my sweet Marlen. I do love the mustard and the blue together!

Oh man, I know what you mean by liking the strangest things. I totally feel that way about some of the socks I want to buy... some of them are so out there *__*
