Mixing Polka Dot Patterns

"Hey Marlen, get a haircut!" Okay fine, twist my arm, I'll get one today. It is getting a little too prepubescent Bieber for my taste, so it's just as well.

Also, how are we liking my polka dot on polka dot action? When I whipped this My Avonlea dress out of my closet, I knew I wanted to dress it down in a quirky but cozy way. I think it really works since the sweater's dots are much larger than the dress's, so it's not too crazy and "LOOK AT ME"-y. And since I haven't been too pleased with my boot selection this fall, I tried the whole flatforms-with-socks deal. I think I like it, but I kind of want to find some crazy patterned socks as a little statement piece. Maybe neon ones? Looks like I need to retract my "LOOK AT ME" statement- I went about a whole minute without succumbing to that. Sigh.

And if you think my My Avonlea Vintage dress looks familiar, it is! I transformed it into a drop-waist dress with a grandpa sweater in this post.

And in case you're wondering what else My Avonlea has, here are some of my favorite pieces that they have for sale now!:

  17. I'm not the biggest fan of mixing polka dots with polka dots, but I like how this turned out. You are right that it works nicely when the dots are different sizes. The flatform and socks combination looks great on you too.

Oh and I'll be staying in Capitol Hill but am also going to Fremont, Downtown, and I really want to go to Kerry Park so hopefully Queen Anne too :)
