La-Meow-Vintage-ScarfLa-Meow-Handkerchief

Well who would have thought it, but the rumors were true: it does rain a lot in Seattle! So instead of giving up and taking a ten month vacation from the blog, I decided to take you into my home while all hell breaks loose outside. Just imagine you're over for some coffee and I'm at the counter, busily trying to pass off some bakery cookies as my own. Because, real talk, I would so try and impress you and do that. Now smile and pretend I baked that peach cobbler from scratch, and steadfastly ignore the plastic container in the bin.

And while we're at the topic of impressing you, how do you like my outfit? This La Meow handkerchief really runs the show when I'm trying to style it. Rather than adding it as a last second detail, I instead grab it and try to build a look around it. Anyone else do that with some of their pieces? And I thought that nothing would suit this cat-print handkerchief better than a 50's mint sweater buttoned over a flower print shift. Go big or go home, amiright?

Way to not be beat by the rain! I also love that you planned an outfit around your scarf - something I do often (perhaps too often..)
Your kitchen looks so darling :)
Speaking of home... I'm heading to your hometown this weekend for Coffeefest, so I'm hoping the rain holds off at least a little bit. Here's to hoping - the West Coast is wildly unpredictable.

  29. Haha, oh yes, it does rain a lot in the winter. That's not a lie. I feel like anytime it's sunny, I'm obligated to run out and take outfit pictures or I'll lose my chance. I wish my kitchen was that cute so I could take pictures inside! And I wish I had that scarf, because I love it to bits.

  30. Ahhh! I love the outfit and your cute, bright kitchen. We just moved to a new apartment here in Portland and the kitchen is all dark wood and oppression. : ( The outdoor outfit photos get pretty darn tricky in the Pacific Northwest come October.

  36. You are so adorable! This outfit's fantastic, and your kitchen is reminding me how badly I need to find a regular indoor spot to take pictures in before it gets cold (not that I take pictures outside frequently, though, but still).
