Feeling Tres French

Something about this polka dot Modern Hearts skirt made me pin it against my hips and proceed to comically swish my hips back and forth as I strutted across the living room, going "ooh la la" and smoking a fake cigarette between my fingers. Clearly it made me feel French. Clearly. And I'd totally wear a beret with this outfit if I owned one. But instead I went for the next best thing and, in typical French fashion, added a striped top in neutral colors, and accessorized in all black. All I needed was a skinny black mustache painted across my upper lip and it'd be perfect. Tres chic, no?

Confession: For the first half of the day I didn't have the collared chambray top underneath my blouse and I felt just...wrong. I have issues. COLLARS FOREVER!

  9. Marlen, you're hilarious, and I feel like we could be friends in real life. This is mostly because my favorite accent/attitude to strut to is 1920's NEWSPAPER REPORTER! It's the best! I would say tres chic french woman would be second place.

I adore this look! Those red stripes really pop with the skirt, and I think the collar is a nice touch :) I like the second picture especially. Hope you are having a wonderful week!

  15. Oui, oui! I was going to add a black beret and a croissant on the other hand. Oh and the cigarette you are smoking better be on one of those thin, long pointy pipe thingys too!

  26. I think a skinny mustache would be absolutely eXTRAVAGANT with this entire ensemble, my sweet Marlen. But oh, how I love that skirt.

It's funny how we can feel off if an outfit doesn't have a certain element... like I feel so weird without socks now. SO NAKED.
