This weekend was an interesting hodge-podge of laziness. We walked around Seattle, in search of nooks to hang out in, and found ourselves in magic trick shops and vintage poster stores. We flipped through books that told us how to gain slight of hand, guess card numbers, and pull coins out of ears with just a flicks of the wrist, and we glanced  at each other with raised eyebrows and both thought, "hello, rent money". Across the walkway we flipped through vintage Playboys and dug through boxes of old post cards and album photos, trying to figure out who the people were that were smiling back up at us. We flicked through old advertisements that looked like they were pitched right out of Mad Men, and laughed at the pages of twenty-year-old MAD magazines.

And how adorable is this peter pan collar dress? I was looking for something feminine and sweet to wear, so I pulled this little number that's for sale in my shop, and made it mine for the day. I love the muted, dusty colors, especially paired with the Levis jacket.

  1. You are the coolest, and I LOVE that dress! It's so cute! I may or may not want to steal it right off your body. Hehe. If I didn't have so many floral dresses already, I'd SO buy it.
You're making me wish we lived in Seattle, because all of your little adventures around the city are so fun. But at least we're only an hour away! Speaking of which, I think some weekend in August we should meet up and wander!

  6. Your weekend sounds so amazing! I have to admit that I'm a huge sucker for vintage playboys... they are so fun and hilarious! I first fell in love with them at a vintage store in SF last summer, and I've always wanted to collect them. The models outfits are kind of adorable in a weird, naughty way- haha! And of course I love your dress!

I wasn't done with my comment. Your day sounds like quite the adventure, with all that rummaging and old magazine gazin' and picture takin'. Jam-packed with awesomness, I'd say.

  38. I was about to comment on your most recent post (that dress is amazing, by the way), but since I'm catching up on posts that I've missed, I had to comment on this one to tell you how much I adore this outfit! The dress, the jacket, the shoes, the sunglasses...I love all of this! Man, why don't I have a denim jacket yet? It's one of the biggest unsolved mysteries of the world I hear.

Also, I've been loving your Seattle pictures! But if you ever do decide you miss home so much and need to make a trip back, you should do it when I'm in Chicago :)
