Oh How Far One Dress Can Go

Here it is again- the dress I swore I'd leave Marc for if only I could marry it.  It's been such a love affair these past two weeks. And I've been finding ways to make this Nauti Godiva Vintage dress go further for me, and not just act as a typical dress. Because of its darling cap sleeves I've been having a fun ol' time layering blouses and such under it, and then one day I realized it could double as a vest. Uh, hello game changer. Now I'm really never going to take this off. I popped a floral blouse underneath because I love how stripes and florals look together, and then used the belt from the actual dress as the belt on my skirt to give it a bit of a matchy-matchy feel. Ah true love, have you ever seen anything like it?

And below is how I styled it the first time around. If you want to see more pictures, click to the original post here.

Since I cruelly snapped up this particular piece, I thought I would share other frocks that Nautie Godiva carries. That way we can all have hearts in our eyes!

okay but seriously I LOVE THIS DRESS ON YOU and so I'm totally okay with you continuously finding new ways to wear it. You're always full of surprises, like a box of Lucky Charms. Which marshmallow shape will you get next?? What combination of marshmallow shapes? WE JUST DON'T KNOW. You are the marshmallow, Marlen...

And ooh, I love your hoop earrings, too. I haven't seen anyone don hoop earrings in years! Bring 'em back, girl. BRING 'EM.

  10. That's such a neat idea! I'm so basic when it comes to wearing dresses but this is going to get me to try layering a skirt over my dresses.

    Thanks for the inspiration! :D

  31. You are seriously the best layer-er ever! I never would have thought to wear this dress like a vest. I really like the floral top underneath it. The way you used the sash on the dress as a belt over that skirt is genius too.
