Citrus Daisies

So two things:

1. I'm glad to hear that the rest of you are as horrified of the Stairmaster as I am, and thus really felt my pain about the Nepal trek. Maybe we should start a Couchpotato Brotherhood? I'll start drafting the papers.

2. I'm also glad to hear that I wasn't the ONLY one who got their owl lost in the mail. So tragic; we could all have been wielding wands made out of unicorn hair and dragon spit by now. But I'm not giving up hope. I'm going to the next best thing: I'm probs a squib.  photo MayBlog066_zps71147318.jpg
Now on a more sartorial note: this Bijou Vintage Bazaar romper is the bees knees! I have been having SO much fun styling it. Its citrus, 70's daisy print makes the outfit so wonderfully summery, and it contrasts with other patterns in such a quirky way. This time around I used it as a top and popped a full skirt over it. I love dresses or rompers that have thick straps or high necklines because you can easily turn them into vest like layers (like I did here); which doubles your wardrobe!

I didn't quite feel satisfied with the romper just being paired with the skirt, so I layered a polka-dot print long-sleeve under it to add a little pattern play. And there you have it: a very Marlen-ish outfit :)

  14. LOL. My gym is the worst - it has ten different stair masters, and they are all tough.

Cool outfit. I had no idea mustard yellow looks so good with pink. Adding that necklace is genius.

  15. So cute! I love your pattern mixing so much.I need to do more pattern mixing myself. Seriously. Bolder pattern mixing, like this.
I love these pictures, too. They remind me a bit of Edward Scissorhands for some reason. I think because the background is so perfect and bright and suburban.

  16. Marlen the squib. Hey, that doesn't sound half bad! ;) Bahaha, I just adore your personality. You're too funny and precious.

Man oh man, I love how that skirt rumples around the belt like it does. It's very paper bag-y in a super cute way. And that pink necklace is reminiscent of gum balls. Love it!

  24. Yup, a Marlen-ish outfit indeed. I love it! Always creative! :)
I'm really liking how your light pink statement necklace stands out against the citrus romper.
    Also, the stairmaster is evil...yuck
In fact, I find most machines at the gym are bent on destroying mankind.

  31. You, madame, are the master of layering. No one else compares. Polka dots under a citrus romper? You make it look way too effortless. And stylish, of course. I'm off to wait by the door for my owl. It's not too late if I LOOK like I'm 11, right?

  33. Such cute layering in this outfit! I love the mix of patterns too. I really like how you layered a skirt over a romper. I love the idea of that, but I feel like I would struggle going to the bathroom the whole day! That's always part of the woes of wearing rompers though.
