Are the Lost Boys Taking Applications?

My mom and I were sitting at the kitchen table- me sitting indian style in my seat and crumbling a cracker absent-mindedly, she eyeing me worriedly with her arms crossed.

“Well, India’s over…”, she said, watching me go for a second cracker. “Now what?”

Now what, indeed. I’ve tried looking for job postings for wanted Lost Boys on Craigslist, but to no avail. The Hogwarts grad school program is too hard to get into, and you need to know someone to get an assistant’s job at the Ministry of Magic. I don’t have the stamina to be hired as one of Daenerys’s swellswords (I mean, I start weeping when I go into push-up position) and I heard they’re making some big changes over at Panem and the districts, so I don’t even want to start with that.

So, clearly, I’m out of options. Cue the exasperated sigh here. But never fear, I'm sure I'll blindly stumble upon something good soon, haha. Which is what I told me mom, and to which she just crossed her arms harder.   photo MayBlog042_zps57470948.jpg photo MayBlog022_zps59bab9c9.jpg
And on a more sartorial note, I clearly can't get enough of mixing stripes with florals (see my other look here!) It isn't too loud and is a great baby step for those that are just starting to dabble with pattern mixing. This August Wrinkle dress is so sweet with its peter pan collar and cut-out back, and I decided to balance out the short hemline with a vintage, over-sized button-down, which is for sale in my shop right now!

  10. Hahaha, Marlen! I laughed out loud at this post. Your writing is just so precious and captures me all the way through. Sorry that it's difficult to get into Hogwarts grad school--man, I was totally planning on applying there, but it looks like I might have to shoot for some other options!

I love the pattern mixing here. I especially love how the patterns are both a bit muted, opposed to stark black, white, and neon contrasts like some people have been doing. I adore that braided belt, too! <3
