Vintage 1990's Nana's Couch Vest

Hi all! Here's a brief pause in the India adventure to introduce some new items in my vintage store, Bear and Twine. In case you're new to the blog or missed my grand opening almost a month ago, I want to explain why I opened up my little shop. :)

For me, clothing isn't just the stuff you sleepily pick out in the morning and shrug into. Instead, it's a story, it's a feeling, it's a soundtrack and a hope you want to live out for the day.

With Bear and Twine, I'm not just selling clothes. I'm giving you carefully curated moments: Wednesday date nights, afternoon trips to delis to read your newspaper, walks in the park just as spring turns into summer, and balcony lunches with your friends and leftover pizza.

There's a feeling, a vibe to each piece.  Each dress will help you live out the fairy tale of that day and each sweater will give that cozy hug you were after. And that's why each grandpa sweater and pleated dress is special. That and that they're the best ones you'll find this side of the Mississippi ;) Enjoy!

  1. I love that you describe clothing as a story or a feeling to play out during the course of a day... That's lovely, and such a good way to word it. Dressing up definitely makes me feel a ton better. :)

  24. These items are so much fun, Marlin! I love the whole idea of a story being behind each wearable piece- I love to look at clothing that way too. It can totally be part of life's narrative- with a moment attached to each piece. I got in a car accident in this green jacket and every time I tried to put it on after the accident I just couldn't - I eventually got rid of it. Then there are dresses that may not be the MOST incredible- but I remember wearing them out to the movies when my husband and I started dating and I just can't let them go :) Anyway- neat collection you have here and I LOVE what you did to your hair in the photos!
