Ever felt like your life was stuck in a rut and you kind of sort of liked it? I feel dirty saying it, but I'm liking my come home, slip on sweatpants, and eat cookies while watching New Girl track that I've somehow stepped into. I feel like when I get off my train and step back onto suburb land, I've been transported away from all the bad, stressful adult stuff and jumped into the lazy mom-what's-for-dinner kid stuff. It's kind of like when Harry took the Hogwarts Express and left Dudders in the dust. (Yes, I just compared myself to The Boy Who Lived. And yes, I just compared my boss to Pig in a Wig).I've got all these projects starting to pile up that I've steadfastly been ignoring, and I know it's going to topple over on my head like a lost game of Jenga very, very soon...but I think I'm just going to take another bite into my cookie and see how long I can stretch this out for.
And on a more fashion, less lazy note- here's another fall look that I've made using a summer staple. I'm really loving the challenge my closet throws at me every morning. I've been coming up with probably my most playful outfits by trying to make these summer pieces work in the nippier days. I'd love to see some of your whims of genius, too :)
Sweater- F21
Dress- c/o Sugarlips
Booties- Macys
I love this outfit, so perfect for this horrible inbetween weather :) xx
ReplyDeleteJust read through some of your posts and I love your autumn outfits - so pretty. I'm also the fan of the odd Harry Potter simile, too. Haha.

I ALWAYS come home and change. Nothing wrong with it, I think. I'm jealous that the magic of suburbia has washed over you and cleansed your stress away. Sound wonderful.

I love this color combination. I also really want a top with a collar like that. I've never tried a Peter Pan collar before.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Being stuck in a rut definitely isn't a bad thing. ;)
I love these colors together, such a fun dress! Yes- sometimes those "ruts" can be a good thing. Just living life and being mellow without the craziness of ups and downs :)

I totally do the come home and put on sweatpants. I love dressing up pretty, but some days it's just nice to wear the super-comfortable clothes. I hope your stressful adult stuff doesn't topple on you too much! I know how that can be, too. Ah, life.
ReplyDeleteThat dress is gorgeous, and I love the yellow sweater with it!
So glad you found me (or my blog, rather). But in any case, I am loving your thrifted ensembles, lady! This is so great. I, too, am layering my spring and summer with sweaters for as long as I possibly can. :)
