Brunches and Sunday Dresses

Julyblog206 Oh, you know this is a throw back because of those unsightly roots on top of my head. I'm squinting at them on the computer screen and shaking my head sadly. How did I show my face these past weeks? Or more importantly, how did no one pass by me and toss a paper bag over my head? People of Chicago, you have restraint.

Anyways, this is what I wore last Sunday to my parents' 23rd Anniversary brunch! It was an afternoon of champagne (no showers), fancy pants waffles next to scoops of pasta and seafood (only during brunch), and funny memories of wedding dresses with offensively huge shoulder poofs and matching honeymoon track suits.

May we all be that lucky one day :)

  2. Mine (roots) are the same way currently, but I keep thinking of so many other things to do. I psych myself out thinking it's SUCH a chore that I can't possibly deal with right now. But in reality, it doesn't take that long.

  20. I didn't know you were in Chicago. I was just up there visiting a few weeks ago. Crazy!

FYI, I don't think your hair looks bad. That's probably the reason why no one has put a paper bag over it yet. ;)

  36. Hi Marlena!! Just stumbled across your blog. Went through a few of your past posts and I adore your style. I love how you layer shirts under dresses... great idea, since dresses are really one of the hardest pieces to remix into a wardrobe. :)

I love this dress on you. I love how you wore booties to offset the very feminine silhouette of the dress.

Well, I hope you're having a great day. I'll surely be back for a visit!

  41. I absolutely love this dress and the little boots! At first I though it was vintage O__O

The other day, my mom told me that she wanted to give me her wedding dress and I was just horrified. She was about 100lbs on her wedding day and looked like a huge poufy doll in a whipped cream-like dress and a matching hat. Eek! At least the dress does look funny on the pictures :)
